Inside the primary there is a little 1/4 hose that is bolted to the inner primay wall with a little metal clip held by a 1/4 bolt.. a portion of the clip works as a lock washer. I'm wondering how long the end should be past the little metal clip? The old one looked broken and it was sticking out a little past the clip.. anybody? Thanks. (I would post a picture, but can't find my USB cable..)

Here is a pic of the primary. You can see the vent hose and the clip below the stator wire and primary chain, but the end is hidden behind the stator.. I am trying to find out how far past the clip towards the left should it extend.

Its about 1/8 of an inch thick (3mm?) and a woven cloth like material that seems to have carbon dust in it. Its somewhat flexible, but not stretchy. It has no adhesive material whatsoever on it and the instructions say to wrap with a 1/4 inch overlap (6mm) and then hold it in place with a hose clamp at each end.

Its just not that simple; the stuff wants to slip, slide and wander, and if there are hanger brackets anywhere along the course, you will have a gap.

Anyone know of some trick to make this stuff easier to apply and have it stay in place? I sure don't want to be smelling burnt glue for months.

I wrapped an aftermarket muffler for a dirt bike with it (the muffler was cooking and melting the plastic body on the bike) but it took four large hose clamps and a support bar to get the muffler covered (who knows if it will last very long?).

Friday 8 June 2012 - Meet at your dealer for the ridedown to Hazyview at a leisurely pace. The Centurion crowd are leaving at 9h00and go via Bronkhorstspruit, Middelburg, Belfast to the quaint town ofDullstroom for lunch. Past Lydenburg we are heading toour next stop at Pilgrim's Rest. From there it is a short stint to Graskop andHazyview. Friday evening is the usual kuier with the other RAT's while dinneris served at the Olive and Vine.

Saturday 9 June 2012 - After a hearty breakfast, we head outto White River for the Woodsman in Sabie. Then its Graskop, God's Window andBlydepoort for lunch. This is biker heaven on some of the best roads in SouthAfrica. We end the day's riding back to The NumbiHotel via Graskop. The rest of the afternoon is free, with rugby on the bigscreen before dinner.

Sunday 10 June 2012 - There is no big rush to finishbreakfast and say goodbye to new friends made on the weekend. Life can'tget any better enjoying the winding roads on your Triumph as you ride home.
