I have had the bike almost a year. It came with Tors, beautiful sound but too much for me. Anyone have or know of stock silencers available?

Did you try any other forum? May be able to swap with someone that would like the TORs exhaust, then just have to pay some shipping costs. Just another option if you haven't tried it yet. GL in your search.

Thanks, I thought about it but want to keep the tors to slip on now and then for that good sound,,,,, which i cant take more than an hour or so

I have a new to me 2009 America with short pipes, not sure which kind. Similar to the original poster of this thread, they're pretty loud. I think I'm looking for some of the OEM long pipes. Additional question: previous owner indicated that some programming on the computer/ECU (assume fuel delivery/timing) had been updated. Not sure what implications this has with returning to long pipes. Can original ECU stock parameters be restored?

Yes it can. But the EC?U;s are adaptable. Put you long pipes on, ride it for about 100 miles and see if the ECU adapts.

Great info, thank you. Somewhat familiar with car ECU adaptation; I was not sure how these critters worked. And I think you were leading to the question of making changes to exhaust flow characteristics and whether it's within the limits of adaptation. With all the folks on this board, we'll get it figured out.
