Before I bought a center paddock stand it was a bit difficult to see if I was close or not. Checking it now with it on the stand I am at the top line. Am I too close or over filled? Should I take out a bit?CCEF956D-2B41-41B9-852B-8F03EB73C272.jpeg

I can't see the oil level clearly from the picture, but if the level isn't over the top line then I wouldn't be worried.
To be on the safe side I always fill to just a tad below the top line.
If you think you're bit too full then take a bit out.

My 2014 Honda, for example, doesn't like it even that high and sucks oil into the air filter box so I keep it about 3/4 between the lines.
As long as you're between the lines, you're fine.

I’m inclined to take a bit out and have the oil level clearly below the top mark. Thanks.

That is what I would do. I never fill mine to the top line.

Thanks. It’s amazing how much better one can judge the lines when it’s level by itself.

ROTFL yes, it's quite amazing isn't it!

this is just some thoughts on old triumphs and also wet crank oil levels , i have in the past made the mistake of adding oil to the old dry crank case triumphs after siting BSA was more prone to wet sump when siting a while than triumphs but triumphs do ocasionly wet sump so if mine are down more than usual i either drain the crank case or start the motor and let it idle a bit and maybe take it up and down the street slowly and let the pump drain the case back to the tank. if you drain the case you wont get any oil to the top end for a while
on motors without a oil tank its not good to over fill them they tend to pump out the extra i noticed this whit a diesel truck i drove . the oil level on the dip stick said add si fliiled it to the top mark next stop i checked and it was almost half way to the add mark so i left it alone and it stayed that way for several days and slowly droped , the old diesels tended to use a gallon in between oil changes this truck liked it when it was about half way to the add mark , too much tends to foam up and go out the breather- im no expert but its something to think about jim

I was able to syphon off a bit.B0C704FA-909F-4BE6-8571-564CBD56898F.jpeg
