2020 Thruxton RS
Will be receiving delivery of my 2020 thruxton rs in the next 2 -3 weeks. I like the features offered on the rs including suspension, braking, engine upgrades, but I'm not satisfied with the matte paint and blacked out engine. I would love to add the fairing (price very high at over $1000) and I'll be looking into possibly stripping the engine cover paint and going to brushed aluminum surface. I'm assuming the covers are all aluminum. Has anyone done this with their matte covers? Also want to paint the tank and tail and front fender diablo red (and fairing if I buy one) and side covers gloss black. Rear fender eliminater also. This would be my ideal finished product. Would love to hear from anyone who has made changes to their rs.

Sounds like a fun project. Look forward to seeing what you do with it.

I believe the engine covers (and matching bolts) are available as an accessory either in aluminium or black finish. Less work ;-)

You might be able to find some almost new covers cheap from some one who has changed from aluminium to black . Sure there are lots out there , eg , I have a perfect red seat and clip ons .

If I see any blushed aluminum covers for sale at a good price I'd consider buying them. Otherwise, I enjoy doing the work and trying new things. I have a friend who does motorcycle paint and body and he keeps me from doing anything too foolish.

The prices I have seen for left cover, and right covers seem awfully high. Perhaps approaching $1000. If someone has some lightly used covers in aluminum finish I'd love to hear from them. I believe that all the 1200 Bonneville series covers are interchangeable. Thanks for your reply.

I would be interested in swapping my aluminium sprocket cover for a black one. Other engine covers are black already. But as I am in The Netherlands it's probably better to find someone local

I'll keep that in mind. The bike just shipped and won`t be here for 2-3 weeks. Thanks.
