Trip To Strom Thurmond Reservoir (Modoc, USACOE)

2019 Scrambler 1200 XC
Did a little trip from Fernandina Beach, FL to Modoc, SC to camp at a Army Corp of Engineer campground (USACOE). Most of the time COE campgrounds are located on or near a lake or reservoir. The one I stayed at is just NW of Augusta, GA on the reservoir. I was thinking it would be a little cooler than FL, but that was not the case, needed to go about 3 hrs north of there for the cooler temps. Still the trip was enjoyable with the best part being the last 40 miles or so.
In another few this ride would be would be perfect. When I got home my wife wanted to know where I was going to next, seems I needed to be planning next trip on the way home. Maybe she is trying to tell me something. Anyway next trip is in the works.

Is there a resource that locates all the COE camps throughout the USA?

Yes indeed. I regularly use my Senior National Park card. I use it just to go to the beach at the Canaveral National Sea Shore
 
My wife doesn't qualifies but she is with me enjoy the savings.

Mine is not so keen on the outdoors. Her MS limits her enjoyment of any place without air conditioning. She’d happily send me out on my own. LoL.

Yep. I had a worrisome trend my girlfriend’s were always older than the previous. Lucky I found my wife when I did. LoL.

Mine encourages me in my hobbies. She’s the one that said why don’t you go take that MSF riding course!
