These valves in the exhaust sound like the old EXUP valves that I had in my Yam Thunderace, were prone to sticking if not removed and lubricated frequently, just maybe.
Nice Bike, just like mine. Just bought mine and 3 days later it's not starting and engine light came on. Dealer is taking it to a Triumph shop. I did notice though the exhaust is not triangular so must have been changed.
Does anyone know what ECU diagnostic system works for the 2015 model?

Welcome to TT from Eastern Canada.
The ECU is locked on the LT and Commander models for modifying. Not sure if a regular scan tool can read them. Only authorized Triumph dealer can unlock for the TORs tune.

The new Thunderbirds(LT and Commander) have butterfly valves in the exhaust that open up at higher throttle settings(read WOT) to decrease back pressure and theoretically increase performance. They must be cable operated from a solenoid or vacuum diaphram.
I know it makes them louder WINK
That's good to know. Might be the same problem I am having will see. Going back to dealer in a few days.

It is only on the left side exhaust pipe by the kick stand mount.
How did your bike hold up afterwards? Rides good now?

I traded in my T'bird last year for a '17 1200 Tiger Explorer.
Wanted something lighter, more agile and longer suspension travel for our wonderful roads we have here. They still have it at the dealer and would buy it back/still own it if I had the room to store more.
