The 2022 Triumph Trident 660 Is the Most Affordable Model in the British Manufacturer’s Portfolio
Contents
In late 2020, Triumph Motorcycles took the wraps off the Trident 660, an all-new, entry-level street-naked that was designed to make the British manufacturer more accessible to the masses. The new 660cc platform has since spawned another model, the Tiger Sport 660, and acts as an excellent entry point into the 2022 Triumph Motorcycle lineup.
As its name suggests, the Trident 660 features a 660cc inline-triple, producing 80hp and 47 lb-ft of torque. Triumph has mentioned that it has tuned this engine to act as the “perfect combination of punchy linear power and torque, low down and across the whole rev range.”
The Trident features two riding modes (Road and Rain), ride-by-wire throttle, and adjustable traction control. You also can turn traction control off if you’re looking to have some rear-wheel spinning fun. There’s also a fully-digital instrument cluster that you can equip with the optional Bluetooth module. This will give you access to turn-by-turn navigation and GoPro, phone, and music control.
Suspension hardware includes a Showa inverted fork and preload-adjustable mono-shock. As for the brakes, it uses a Nissin two-piston front caliper and a single-piston rear caliper.
The Trident 660 sits below the more expensive, better equipped Street Triple models in the manufacturer’s ‘Roadster’ line and is a great, affordable everyday motorcycle with more relaxed ergonomics.
The 2022 Triumph Trident 660 starts at $8,395 USD / $9,695 CAD.
