I am just off a 2022 BMW R1250GS Adventure and used the VI BMW (Garmin) GPS. I am not too sure about the ease of navigation and even how the Triumph Navigation works. Thinking about just adding the new Garmin XT2 on my new 2023 Triumph. Thoughts?

Did you decide to add the Garmin?

I am ordering the Garmin next week. I hoped someone would put them on sale but so far not.
Does it come with mounting brackets? Post when you have it installed!

I just use my smartphone with Waze.

I use the built in Bluetooth module on the new 1200 explorer and the my triumph app .. it gives you turn by turn instructions on your tft screen so is easy to see .. you don’t get a satellite view as you would with a Garmin or Tom Tom but gets me to where I want to go with no issue …. It’s already on the bike and the app is free so I don’t feel the need to buy anything more . .. you pays your money and takes your choice I guess ‍♂️

I agree with you. That is why I use my smartphone. Didn't have to buy anything. I already had a mount for the phone.

So for the electronically challenged (like me), you download the Triumph app and connect via bluetooth to the bike. Then you set up a route to navigate on your phone and it displays on the bike screen. Correct? Is there any sound from the bike navagation?

If you have Bluetooth in your helmet headset then yes you get sound . If you don’t use a headset then no there is no sound from your phone or the tft screen.
The setup is as you thought. Sometimes it may not link first time but once it has connected then there is no issue afterwards.
