I’m reaching out to see if anyone else has experienced similar issues with their 2024 Tiger 900 Rally Pro.
A couple of weeks ago, while making a turn on tarmac near my house, my bike displayed a “Transmission Fault” warning, followed by a complete engine shutdown. A TCS error also appeared. When I shifted to neutral to move the bike, the gear position didn’t show on the TFT. After letting it sit, the engine wouldn’t turn over, and I didn’t hear the usual hum when turning the key to the run position. Disconnecting and reconnecting the battery ground wire brought back the gear position display on the TFT, but the engine still wouldn’t turn over. I ended up trailering it home.
The next day, I pulled fault codes P154, 06A4, and P1135 before taking the bike to the dealer. The dealer's diagnostic only showed code P06A4 (5V sensor circuit D, related to the ride-by-wire throttle). They replaced the throttle control sensor under warranty, inspected the wiring harness (no issues found), updated the engine/ECM software, and road-tested it without reproducing the issue.
However, after picking up the bike, I took it for a ride, and about an hour in, the “Transmission Fault” and TCS error reappeared, followed by another complete shutdown. The bike wouldn’t turn over again. I disconnected the battery as instructed by the dealer, but still no startup and did not have the usual humming noise. I had to trailer the bike home again.
When I got back, the situation worsened—this time, when I turned on the key, the TFT didn’t illuminate, and while the emergency blinkers worked, the horn, turn signals, and other accessories did not. Of course, the bike would not turn over and the bike did not make the norma humming noise.
I’m frustrated and losing confidence in both the bike and the dealer. Has anyone else encountered this issue or something similar? I’m considering taking it to another shop willing to dig deeper into this problem. I just want a bike I can trust.
Thanks in advance for your help and insights!
