2024 Triumph Tiger 1200 Review | First Look

Sounds like parts shortages and they’re waiting for orders to mount up and parts availability to stock up before they start a production line. These are the high end models if I understand correctly and the most tech components.
I'd Sure like to hear an OFFICIAL reason from Triumph instead of us trying to guess. The fact that NO `24 1200's have appeared on our shores is quite disheartening.

I don’t disagree. Y’all can always contact Triumph and see what they say about projected delivery schedules. I know this seems to be a topic among the top end products. Would be interesting to hear their response.

Triumph always responds with the same set response. "...contact your local dealer."

And that's why my brother who was quite impressed with my Tiger 1200 went to Moto Guzzi...he actually called all the dealers that had any Tiger listing on Cycle trader from Texas to GA, then he called Triumph USA HQ in Atlanta. NO ONE had any useful info. Bizarre stuff my friends. I'm legitimately worried at this point.

I guess Triumph doesn't haunt this forum (unofficially)?

Great bikes, lousy company.

Well I doubt knocking the company on this forum will help resolve the issue. If there’s a dealer nearby, take a ride and go talk to the people. If you get to know the people, perhaps strike up fair relationship you might actually get more responses. I’m pretty sure a dealer could give you more info if they take a liking to you and see you as more than just another person making inquiries. I certainly don’t know what’s going on. The answers won’t come by saying how the company is failing in its service to you. It’ll come by making an honest relationship with someone, connecting on a human level. I’ve known a few people who could do it and they always got better service than others who were just another guy complaining about their vehicle. That’s the best advice I can give if y’all are interested in finding out.

I am not knocking the company just being accurate relating my experience with the fools. I am hoping and it seems the new dealer that opens 30 miles away in two weeks will be good. I've stopped in twice and they seem responsive. I have zero hope Triumph North America will improve customer service. It is a shame because Triumph is putting out great bikes.

Well make friends when you see them.

Seems like this could describe Triumph USA at this point?

BTW the dealer Bell County Motoworks is my extended family now. They are truly good people with passion to motorcyclists to provide the best experience and service. As for a Triumph dealer in Texas (there may be one in El Paso I did not reach out to) they were BY FAR the most personable and honest folk, and is really the ONLY reason I bought this new Tiger. They have been trying to find out WHEN they'll get new tiger 1200's (and possibly others) since NO 2024's and 2025's will be released June+. We are 2 months at this point from that. They got the new 400's from India.

My younger brother usually buys bikes similar to me and occasionally the exact models and that was his intention this time until he realized there were NO 2024's to be had in the USA and NO ONE had an answer. Nothing was mentioned about supply chain, nothing about shortages, only that Europe was the only place 2024 Tiger 1200's were being shipped to. (He did not ask about the 900's or other models). Having said that, other than the Aragon edition, has anyone seen a 2024 Tiger 900 in a dealer locale?

We went on what is now our tradition ride to the coast to our favorite seafood place on our new bikes. I have a genetic disdain for V engines on motorcycles but I was impressed with the Guzzi's power (only 80 bhp) and smoothness. I wouldn't buy one personally but they do have 2024's on the floor.

I'm just hoping Triumph fixes this problem and keeps their quality control higher. My first impression was a doozy and still is regarding parts I'm supposed to have that I don't, namely clutch cover gasket and now the phone charger assy (door is fubard, won't hold shut). Who knows when I'll see either one. Heaven forbid I need anything else anytime soon.

With all due respect relaying actual ISSUES with a companies product is NOT "knocking the company" necessarily, and in fact is IMPORTANT to ALL potential buyers to know the issues they should look for. All current reviews I've come across on utube and other places about Tiger 1200's is usually titled "Drive before you buy" due specifically to the clutch TSB and/or clutch pack misassembly issue (this was what mine had, workmanship defect). I missed all of these because I was ONLY looking for a 900 until I found this dealership and their prices. I fell in love with the 1200 "idea" with all it's "extra" (magnificent shaft drive design, 50+ HP, etc) and did not take the time to fully research the 1200, and that is my fault (and Triumph's marketing deception, if not intentional) and it bit me a bit.

If anything my post was a "heads up" to potential buyers and IF Triumph cares about it's riders, it could be for them also. But it's all moot point for a 2024 Tiger 1200 in USA, evidently.

My normal MO is for me to be immensely loyal to the brand(s) I ride but this only occurs when the brand is reliable and trustworthy. Time will tell here.

I'm in this bike for the long haul and earnestly wish Triumph to reach the "heavens" in customer service and quality for our mutual benefit. As they say in China, it appears "Sum Ting Wong" with some aspects of this.

YMMV

Actually never said you specifically was knocking the company. Your criticism and questioning is perfectly legitimate. No one here is privy to any conversations had with dealers or Triumph other than our own. If possible a person visit to a dealership might get inquiries a bit further. On the other hand if they don’t know something then eventually the conversation turns to guesswork. Hopefully someone will get some information and shed some light on the subject. I’ve based my responses on articles I’ve read that indicate various motorcycle and automotive companies are having issues with obtaining computer and electronic components. That’s not my guesswork that’s information from industry experts.

I looked through the links but I did not see TRIUMPH specifically mentioned in them, so it's basically just conjecture for this, no? Again, an OFFICIAL info release to all of us Triumph fans would be nice to let us know just what the hell is going on. I'm potentially in a bind personally because of their ineptness in keeping basic supplies available to dealers in North America. And the two things I'm shorted on at the moment have nothing to do with chips/electronic components. A Clutch cover Gasket and plastic phone holder assy (just the housing).

The parts I ordered for my Street Twin came in after I traded the bike in on the Rocket, 13 months...LOL

I have not linked everything I’ve read. I did find articles talking about Triumph and parts shortages. Take my word for it or not. You can use google as well. It doesn’t matter if it’s electronic or not. Some parts are in short supply for numerous reasons and it’s a global issue. If you prefer to hold onto the idea this somehow all Triumph fine. I’ve given you what I’ve found out and told you honestly what I’ve found. Good luck and hope you get those parts.

Please share TRIUMPH specific mentions. I will be calling HQ in Atlanta this week.

This is my concern. My dealer's (ex-dealer) service and parts department is a joke. I contacted Triumph N.A. and the response was "all our dealers are independently owned and operated, contact your dealer." I replied "so Triumph has zero concern there is a bad dealership?" No reply from Triumph.

Unfortunately this is the case with pretty much all manufacturers, the entire "dealer franchise" system fosters this attitude (by design) and gives the manufacturer a degree of limited liability. They can always point to "independent dealership" and walk away legally less obligated.

True. bring back the old days...LOL
