I am interested to see what the best setting for these carbs are as they get older to see if the age of these carbs has any effect and alters the air adjustment settings (turns).

I only have experience with new Amal Concentric's so can't help.
Perhaps Grandpaul or others can help.

Have a AMAL MKII single carb on my '75 Norton Commando, In maybe 80k miles, only replaced slide once! NO appreciable wear on carb body. Teflon coating on slide does wonders for carb body/slide wear. I'm a fanatic about keeping the K&N washable filter clean and well oiled, though. Float replaced twice, (I think) and float bowl gasket yearly

Today's gasoline vs. yesterday's gasoline may have a big effect, and also the slides can effect idle ect. What series carb do you have ?
