I'm looking at buying a '98 Tiger 900. It has 76,000 miles... The current owner is the second owner and put a majority of miles on the bike. It sounds like she's been reactively maintaining it (taking it to a shop when something seems off)... I'm looking for thoughts on whether this has another 50,000 miles or if it will die tomorrow? It currently runs, starts, and shifts smoothly.

Here's the post for anyone interested 1998 Triumph Tiger 900 Triple - motorcycles/scooters - by owner -...

I think, with continuing good maintenance, another 50K is very possible.

Those early motors are built like a tank i had a 900 trident with 91000 miles on it and it ran like a watch , a previous member here had a 94 trophy with over 130000 miles on it .
the main things engine wise are the sprag clutch on the starter motor and the cush drive on the alternator and sometimes coil packs , but if its running sweet and been reasonably maintained its got another 75000 in it easy TUP

I agree with Greyfell and Shane. You should get many, many more miles out of it.
