i bought two bikes from an impound lot they were both stolen bikes and had the key lock punched out--replaced the ignition-battery not charging--i replaced the stator it was bad,wires cut and taped up cleaned up that mess-voltage regulator same mess -i replaced it also and replaced the battery on my 2003 955i --still not charging --any ideas?--looking for advice!

Hi, Papabo, I see you're a new member, so a belated welcome to you to the TT Forum!

I'm afraid I can't help you at all on the charging problems -- your skill level is way above my noobie status. But how does this buying impounded bikes work? If they were stolen, can't the police eventually trace the owner down using VIN and registration or insurance? TIA, and again, welcome!
