Crashbars on a Thruxton

Yes, it’s not the most esthetic add, but it’s not something that can’t be removed. I figure it’s a bit like training wheels. If and when I feel comfortable I can remove them. Thoughts?

SW-Motech, probably pretty much the same. I know myself and damage to other parts from even a drop would bother me more than the appearance of these bars. They are the frame color anyway.

SW make a great product. I have their crash bars on my other Honda. Yours are nearly exactly the same as Renntec.

They look fine, I had crash bars on both of my T100's and they came standard on my Tiger 800XC. I am at the stage in life where I don't much care how something looks. I want practical, safe, and comfortable! I would rather have crash bars than have to replace or repaint a tank!

Look pretty good. I have always liked crash bars. They will save you a lot of money if things go bad.

Yes. Replacing covers, or such is not a good prospect. Touching up those bars is infinitely simpler.

They do blend in.

Crash bars also give you a place to mount highway pegs so you can change positions and stretch out on long rides. I am a distance rider and I have always mounted highway pegs on my crash bars.

I guess my knees and hips are still in good condition (for an old guy) and I've never had the need for highway pegs.
That said, I'm rarely in the saddle for more than 1 - 1 1/2 hour - maybe two - so it's time for a break anyway.
Some also use crash bars to mount running lights.

A few other pics, depending on the angle they are discreet. I’m rather content with it. My wife came into the garage after I had installed them and she was able to see the bike close up with the MINI out of the way, she said it was rather beautiful and I should take pics of it. Perhaps she meant in a better setting!
