Just curious if anyone has actually bought and used the Dealer Tool program and connector? I am contemplating getting it as it sounds like it will save you a lot in the long run with regards to dealer scans, etc.

I have never used it; but I have two friends that have it. It is more thorough than Tune ECU and has more features. For example, they tell me you can calibrate the speedometer with it.

Sounds like it may be worth buying even if you only clear a couple codes and reset the service wrench indicator after an oil change. Just to clarify, resetting the speedo would be useful if you changed out a front or rear sprocket?

That is my understanding.

I bought Dealer Tool a couple of months ago. So far I've used it to clear the Service Wrench icon, balance the throttle bodies and run diagnostics. I think it's worth the money.

I also have TuneECU which is free software. I used it to update the Tune on my Tiger 800 XC (Non-ABS) and clear some codes. It has a speedo adjustment function, but I have not tried it. I changed out my 16 tooth counter sprocket for a 15. I went a different route though for speed correction; I installed a product called speedo drd which plugs inline with the gearcase speed sensor.

Good information. Thanks.

Thanks for the input. I went ahead and ordered up the DealerTool kit. It should arrive anytime now.

Hi John, just wondering from where you purchased the dealer tool and software as I am also looking to order it now. I am situated in South Africa. :y28:

Thanx Dave, have recently phoned them about another matter so will give him a call. Not sure if a dealer would be willing to sell such a tool though...

Thanx Hemibee :y45:, I also found that link but just wanted a second opinion.
I am considering to buy from them but will first have to find out on shipping as I have been waiting 6weeks for handlebar risers from two different suppliers within the US. I think the shipping issue is on our side and my one item can not be traced at all. :ohwell:

Not sure what you are wanting to use Dealer Tool for but you might also check out this link to another (free downloadable) tool that allows access to the 800's.

Check it out here, free software and an interface plug link to buy it for about £14

Why not introduce yourself to everyone in the Members Introduction section of the forum
Maybe even post some pictures of your Bonnie, we love pictures here, like most other places too :).
Enjoy your Bonnie, and enjoy the forum too. (y)

I have come across this site before but didn't trust whether it was genuine, can you use this programme to adjust throttle bodies and check all the systems on the machine? I have a street triple but this was the only thread I could find about the tool.

Hi Luke.
It is genuine, it is free software. I have a Dealertool ECU reader which is locked to my bike but I use my Dealertool reader with this software on my friends Tiger, works faultlessly

Hi Turbo
Thats good thanks. I'm having trouble finding the software download the link that was posted earlier in the forum leads to the site but it seems that you have to pay and receive the software. Is there another way please??
