HI , new guy here. I recently got a 2007 T100 Bonneville , I didn`t know when I got it that the engine had been replaced. The owner had passed away and his son was selling it.Is there a way to look the engine vin number up to see what year it is ? I know it was out of a later model fuel inj bike. It runs great ,just would like to know in case I need parts. Thanks20240605_161137.jpg

If it's a carbed engine the parts should be easy to find. The EFI models started around 2008 (09 USA). If you have electrical connections to the injectors at the back of what looks like a carburetor (actually a throttle body), it's a 09 or later engine.

It`s definitely a EFI engine that has been converted to the carbs that were on the bike. But I don`t know if different years have different parts.

Engines, not so much, most of the deltas are in the electronics and engine management systems. The EFI's have ECU's and the carb models igniters, but the engines are pretty identical. Triumph had to go with EFI to meet emission standards so the carb engines aren't as fiddly. You can contact your local Triumph dealer with the VIN on the engine case and see what year it was produced. You can also type in the VIN here and see if there are any recalls:

Thanks, I kinda thought they were the same except for the electronics.
