In spite of the covid-19 (known locally as the Chinese virus), I followed my own advice to "ride motorcycles" and rode to Titusville to watch the Falcon 9 launch. I left at 0630 and got to Titusville and my viewing spot just at sunrise, 0730.

This was a 92 mile/148 kilometer ride. I took the southern route over there because it was dark and the southern route is four lane highway. Going home I took the country roads.

The large building in the left of the photo is the Vertical Assembly Building, VAB, at the Kennedy Space Center. The launch pads are behind, to the East of the VAB, close to the ocean. Notice the fishermen out on the water.

It was 66 F/19 C on the ride over. Very pleasant temps.

Obviously, I did not take this pic.

SpaceX set a record this morning with the launch of a Falcon 9 booster that had already flown four times before. The booster failed to land on the platform for a fifth time, but the launch still set a record for the company. That is really amazing!

Other riders joined me.

It was a good morning and a good escape from the coronavirus crap.

We have some friends that have a place in Titusville and got to watch the last night shuttle launch back in 2010. Something to have seen, I only wish we had gotten to see more of them.
