I traded a '13 Tiger (just too tall for my short legs!) for the Cafe Racer in June and just got back from a great 21-day ride. I knew going in that the S.C. wasn't made for long-distance riding (especially for this 74-year old body), but could not resist the great looks. This year's ride was from S.E. PA, down Skyline Drive, and the Blue Ridge Prkwy; across TN to Memphis for a visit with an old friend. Then through AR, OK, & KS to suburban Denver for visit with my daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren. Five days with them and then north thru WY to Custer, SD. Spent two days riding the Black Hills and at the Crazy Horse Memorial. It was Sturgis Week and the Cafe Racer stood out amoung all the Harley's in the area! Headed west thru the Badlands, thru IA to Madision, WI for a brief visit with another friend. Took the Lake Express Ferry to Muskegon, MI, then south thru OH and back to PA. The S.C. performed beautifully and my aging body held up quite well. The motorbike really loved the curves on the Blue Ridge and the twisties in the Black Hills. Back home now, thinking of next year's journey. I still have the '04 Sprint RS ("Blue Highways") and will take it next year.
