Fuel pump removal and exchange on a 1200 XC

My question is about the rubber seal between the tank and the fuel pump . With about 700 miles on the cycle. I’m asking if that seal is a must replacement part with a tank exchange? Would it be a fools errand to try to switch it from on tank to another? I ask not because I’m cheap. I’m not, and would gladly pay for a new seal. It’s more about having to order and wait for a new one if it’s not really needed. If it’s a one use only part then so be it.

Rubber seals should be reusable. No real pressure/compression of it. I don't change the seals on my wife's car when I change the fuel pump or in tank filter.

I would probably opt for a new one and keep the old one as a spare.
