Recently upgraded to a new iPhone, I decided I could use the old as a camera. So I wiped out everything, but the camera and a few other programs that I figured were not internet dependent including the built in maps program. After the flat tire thread, I started thinking about all sorts of needs that I have. While my cell an iPhone is fully capable of being a GPS, I got to thinking about other uses for my old iPhone which no longer receives a signal. A GPS with a map program…LoL…which I had just deleted. To make it worse I couldn’t restore the old program back since it was totally gone and couldn’t airdrop it either. Internet search lead me to realize I might be able to airdrop a third party program, “Organic Maps”. So I downloaded it to my new iPhone and then airdropped it to my old phone. It appears it can still download some information. I can download maps after the program is installed. LoL. I’ve also found there’s attachments to iPhones that will make it a SatPhone. That’s for future ideas.

Last picture downloading a map that I had not loaded onto my new phone yet. This program works throughout the globe from what I’ve been able to read.
