I thought I would ask the question as im really interested to find out what type of milage the 800 motor is capable of , and what if any are the issues you my incounter as the bike ages and puts on the miles ?

So to all you 800 owners out there in TT land fill your boots and lets see who's got the highest milage ???

When my 2012 was totaled last year, I had a little over 70,000 miles/ 112,654 kilometers on it. No engine problems at all. I did have the shifting problem.

Thats quit a big milage Carl .... if i remember correctly you bought that bike new ? or very close to new , and in all that time you only had the dodgie gear change spring ... wow thats good !

You are correct. It had 3 miles on the clock, 5 kilometers. And just that gear change spring failure. That engine was rock solid and much smoother than the T plane engine. I would still be riding it if it weren't totaled. Best all around bike I've ever owned.

It's nice to know the longevity is there in Triumph motors. My 1200 has been rock solid so far. At 30,000 kms now and due for the big service this Spring. Valves, coolant flush, spark plugs, etc.

Im interested in this as i want a record of the 800 now to look back on , and then run a pole of the Tplain 900 in a few years time when people have had chance to put some miles on .
