I decided to upgrade my idiot lights to LED’s mainly as I found the oil warning light nearly impossible to see in sunlight. There is a kit available online for AUD$60 but I felt that was expensive for three LED’s (they don’t bother with one for the high beam)
I purchased four Narva T10 LED’s ($40) and swapped them over. They are a massive improvement and I am very happy with the end result. The only problem was my indicator idiot light only worked on the right indicators , turn the LED 180 deg and the left work but not the right. While I knew LED’s are polar sensitive I thought it would work on both sides when installed the correct way, but not to be. I then discovered that you can get non polar sensitive LED’s again from Narva. $30 for two and try again. All working great, only problem now is the non polar sensitive LED’s are taller and prevent the green indicator cap from seating all the way down, I don’t think this is a big problem, I will smear a little lithium grease on the rubber and this should prevent any water from leaking in to the rubber housing. I am presuming the ones offered online are all non polar specific. If any one has purchased these I would be interested to know if they fitted OK. Some photos attached. I ended up purchasing some replacement bulbs for our two cars interior lights so all up spent $100 ( the second LED’s are the non polar specific.E0B76F31-4862-40B5-9813-E869128E4E2A.jpeg6A33898D-98A7-49C1-8319-7BC09712BA8F.pngC1E209FE-B93D-4C61-BEAB-10E67358B359.png

Further to this I used a Dremel tool to cut away the cap on the non polarized LED it came off very easy. Everything now sits flush and looks as it should.3F67FC71-97D7-4DC9-8E59-4A574E28D559.jpeg
