If you are leaving the catalytic converter alone, probably not since the crossover pipe is still in play. Swapping out only the silencers might lead to some lean conditions during deceleration and you get the 'pop' in the exhaust. The way to see if it's running lean under load is to accelerate hard, pull in the clutch and hit the kill switch. Coast brake to a stop, pull a plug and check the color. Chocolate brown and you're good, white too lean, black too rich. Kind of a PIA but it will give you a sense of how the fueling is working under load without putting it on a dyno. If you don't mind spending the money, get it dyno tuned and it will have max power throughout the rev range.I really appreciate the responses!! Thank you! If I were to put a set of Cocktail Shakers on would that require me to remap?
That is exactly the information I was looking for. I will try this whenever the rain stops coming down. Hurtle, hows about a photo so we can see these pipes (some audio would be great too) Where did you get the pipes?
I have been thinking about that issue. Thank you for your opinion.Just my opinion of course. I think the exhausts look too small on a cruiser. It's less sleek, more sort of bunched up.
You've got a pillion backrest. A pillion might well get more of an (damaging) earful now, more than you. The exhausts exit under the pillion.
Video bike, upload to YouTube, paste the link herers. This site won't let me upload m4A files, so I can't add audio, I'm afraid
