My 2006 Bonneville T100 Sputters

Brings up the question, are you running gas with ethanol? If so switching to ethanol free will keep the carburetors cleaner longer.
Agreed!!! I have switched to ONLY ethanol free gas on all my motorcycles, lawn mowers and other small engines". I rarely have any problems. Ethanol is terrible stuff .

It

It's not so much the petroleum industry that profits, it's the farmers.
Mainly the corn growers from what I’ve gathered.

Yes, and they have a big lobby voice. To top it off, corn is not the most efficient ethanol producer. Sugar cane is much more efficient has a higher energy content. Brazil which is heavy into ethanol uses sugarcane not corn. But the sugar cane growers are few; there's only a couple of big sugar cane growers. They don't have nearly the lobby power that the corn growers have. It's all politics.

Agree. For several years now I’ve been using ethanol free on both my cars and my Triumph. They all seem to like it just fine. I don’t take many long trips anymore so I usually fill up at the same station. It’s not exactly close to my house, but there’s a store my wife and I like to visit to buy specialty grocery items so we make a plan to go there when tanking up. I like that I don’t need to worry about the gas sitting and collecting moisture. And as I said, the vehicles run better.

My 2006 Bonneville T100 sputters once, sometimes twice when it is cold. It happens only when driving not This seems to go away when it is warm. I have already replaced the coil and spark plug caps and cables.it happens both when he comes out of the garage and outside when wet. I ride on super 95. It only happens when driving, not when idling. Can anyone help with this?
Thanks
My 2007 T100 is sputtering a little at lower R's and only before a good warm up. And to all who asked the 07' has carbs, so I'm sure the 06' does, and I think 08' as well. I'm glad to hear the carb cleaner did it, that is what I had in mind. I've only had my Bonnie for 5 weeks and have pretty much been babying her, and myself, as I'm a returning rider with a 15 year lay-off. I lit it up on a few stretches today, it was running perfect on the return ride.

Is ethanol free gas readily available? I don't know anything about it, but I will find out now. I have a 2007 with carbs.

This is an ethanol free gas station map/list: Pure-gas.org - ethanol-free gasoline in the U.S. and Canada

There is absolutely no ethanol free gas near me. I live in Southern California, so no surprise there. Wow I'm hosed... This really sucks. Seriously, the nearest ethanol free gas is 50 miles away. When I look at neighboring states, they are everywhere. Is there any additive that anyone knows about?

Do a search for Ethanol treatment, you will find a few. My personal recommendation is from Lucasoil: Safeguard® Ethanol Fuel Conditioner With Stabilizers – Lucas Oil Products, Inc. – Keep That Engine Alive!

If there is a marina anywhere near you? Marina gas is ethanol free.
