New 2024 Tiger 900

I actually like to know I'm riding something that lives.
I swapped bikes with a mate who had a Trophy? it was a 1200 triple tourer, incredible power, but no feeling,
it may have well been electric..
I had a BMW R NINE T , fantastic bike, he loved it & bought a r1250 r.
I am old, & found the little Beemer uncomfortable after 3 hours.
I visited the local bike shops (as you do) & sat on one of the Tiger adventure bikes.
I thought my god! how comfortable is this?
I have owned over 50 bikes in my 60 year riding career,
I enjoy the feeling of this engine, sure it has a buzz at around 4150 rpm but not a problem for me

My Tiger 900 Rally is the most comfortable bike next to my 2009 Kawasaki Concours I sold recently. I can ride it MANY more hours without pains creeping up than even my Tenere 700 with the rally seat (more padding). The seat shape and padding is definitely a key part of this. The handlebar vibration at true 75 mph (indicated 81-82) is noticeable but probably good for circulation(?) but I tend to avoid the faster highways opting for the country scenery which is much interesting and slower speed limits. Then of course the best part of these bikes is exploring all those unpaved roads/trails all over the planet.

Long live the Tiger 900!

Nice post turbo TUP
In this province we have some wonderful twisty and scenic secondary paved roads that are perfect for bikes, and like you, I rarely go on the main highways unless I have to get somewhere quickly.
The scenery and smells of the rural and ocean roads makes for a satisfying ride. A stop for a seafood lunch doesn't hurt either BGRIN

Am sure it has the wobbly crank , I’m getting accustomed to it . The sound is definitely all motorcycle .

One of these days I'd love to explore your country. Used to live in Spokane LONG ago and visited Vancouver area several times. Too young to really remember many details or appreciate it really. Maybe when Trudeau is replaced by someone more, ahem, friendly to travelers like me?

Not knowing you or your history, I can't comment on why you would not be welcome here or have any trouble at the border.
Hundreds and hundreds cross our shared border with ease every day. I've been back and forth dozens of times.
If you ever get the chance to explore British Columbia, it's a fantastic province.
Some years ago, I rode a bike around BC and the Rockies for two wonderful weeks.

I know dozens of Canadian Ex-pats that warn me not to go with Justin at the helm (I'll leave all the details to the imagination) I've trusted them with my life so I'll heed their advice, wrong or right. Nothing personal.

Of course, no offense taken whatsoever.
If there is such a policy, or whatever it's called, it's just something I don't know anything about and would never have encountered.
Trust your friends then, I would say.

That Itchy Boots Lady has been in lots of what I would say are dangerous , questionable places . I think she did ok in Trudeau Land and I’m sure she was in the US in the last half dozen years without any issues , not even packing . My wife is not a big Trudeau fan at all but last summer she got his picture at one of our favourite restaurants , the Boom Burger in Charlottetown.797D1DF5-88B6-44F5-866F-34ABBAB81FD8.jpeg

I had a 900 from 4 years ago, and it was gutless and stalled while going around slow roundabouts.
Zero torque from the peaky engine.
(This is supposed to be a mud-plugger. How do you mud-plug, if it will not even go around a roundabout..?)

So I bought a 1200, and that stalls too, if you are not careful.
Not sure how Triumph made a 1200 gutless, but they did...!

Looks like you may benefit from a refresher course.

I considered and tried the 1200.

I was promised a tri-ple but got a two-and-a-half-ple.
Vibration did not show up on the short test ride.
Too many other new sensations to notice.

Was then promised extra torque from the layout.
But discovered that was all sales buIlshiite.
A T-plane two-and-a-half-ple cannot produce more torque.

Shame, because the handling and braking on the 1200 is exceptional.
And ultra safe - even with heavy braking on a sharp bend.
Those braking gizmos really do work.

Shame the shaft drive is so loose and sloppy.
It is worse than Lucy at the local bordello.
Slip, slop, bang, clash, crash, crunch.
A disgrace to the engineering profession.

You may be better served by an electric bike. Lots of torque no hand numbing vibrations. Probably make through those traffic circles too.

I’ll probably be getting an electric ride somewhere in the future . I would love an E bike just for doing errands and although I haven’t heard of one yet an E hearse must be available already

This is one issue I’d like to avoid. LoL.
Yes! Good luck with that as they can park next to your vehicle while you eat/shop...and burn them all down when (not if) they decide to erupt into extreme thermal instability (basically the exact definition of a thermal bomb device!).

It’s a scary world some where !

True!

Yesterday I HAD to park (legally) next to a Tesla. I did a mental checklist: Full coverage insurance? Check. Nothing in the panniers I'll miss? Check. Need a new 2024 Tiger 900 Rally Pro? Sure. Tesla stayed thermally stable for 90 minutes. Have same bike. It's all Good.

Whew! That was sketchy call. Took guts. Glad you made it out of there unscathed.

I already have the bike - a 1200.
I thought I would get a smooth triple, to replace my lumpy Bonny.
But I got a lumpy triple instead, which was a profound disappointment.
And they would not take it back.

I rode my friends bonnie (speed twin? 1200) and couldnt wait to get back on my (lumpy) Beemer R9T. Found Bonnie too smooth, I've always found triples annoyingly buzzy, but the new crank makes it feel like an engine, which I like. A lot of people seem to like it. But mine is a 900, can't speak for 1200 . I love mine, & can do 500/700 k/s a day comfortably,
