New Crash Protection For My Thruxton!

I just received an R&G Classic Style Frame Sliders for my Thruxton 900! Going to take off the heavy duty and put these on.
Perhaps not today, but soon! Part of my project to get the motorcycle look the way I envisioned.
Parts instructions say 2008 on up and sales on site said 2004 to 2015. Mine is a 2005. Numbers look right, so not too worried. Can’t think of a reason that part or area would be different on any of the 900 series Thruxtons.

Almost done. Need to torque tomorrow morning when it’s cooler, and check how hard my other install is. Looking like I wanted. These frame sliders are almost big enough to be foot pegs! LoL. I’ll take some better pictures when I take out for a ride.

Looks good. Far enough out to protect the vital bits without being too obtrusive.
I agree, you could use them for a second set of pegs. Good to stretch out on the long rides.

Hit a snag on my skid plate install, missing rear brackets. Dang. I bought this a few years back and left it in the package when I realized it wouldn’t work with crash bar setup. I didn’t look close enough to realize it was missing parts. Ok, so the skid plate install will have to wait until I can find the spare parts or fabricate them.

The rear two brackets are missing with bolts and washers.

Those skid plates are worth their weight in gold. I ordered one from Tec right after I got my bike and waited a week or so to get it and install it before I even rode for the first time.

Nearly 2 years later, the thing's pretty much beat to sh-t now but the sump and bottom frame are still immaculate.
