Walmart's Supertech filter is made by Champion and is one of the highest rated filters on the market. ST6607 is the standard filter and ST7317 is a bit longer with more capacity.

Bosch 3323 or 3300

NAPA Gold 1356

Purolator L14610 or L14612

Purolator Pure One ML16819

Motorcraft FL 821

All are 20x1.5mm threads, 2.3" gasket diameter with a bypass valve of 8 to 14 psi and anti drain back valves.

Most of the folks I ride with can't believe I only pay a quarter yo a tenth of what they pay for bike oil filters. I've found a website that lists oil filters for many bikes that can be purchased at large discounts over what the bike shops charge. I'll see if I can locate the link and post it here.

I'm guessing that the same filter is used pretty well all across the Triumph range and the list would apply to most if not all.

The list covers multiple brands and if I remember correctly, most Triumphs use the same Wal Mart filter.

I compared a genuine Honda filter and a genuine Triumph filter and they were exactly the same with the same writing and Japanese characters.

I know the same filters that fit the Bonneville fit the Tiger. I suspect that most of the modern Triumphs use the same filters.

Tony, if you can find that website, please do post the link.

This is the list I have used in past. I had lost the link.

The author recommends automotive filters over motorcycle filters. The automotive filters do not work on the Bonneville family engines. Motorcycle filters are flat across top; automotive filters are convex. Though the threads fit, you cannot tighten an automotive filter tight enough to eliminate leaks (read pours) with an automotive filter. The filter housing is not deep enough. I have not checked this with Tiger 800 yet.

The Wal Mart filter has no problem sealing on the 955, I would expect the 800 to be the same.

If you don't use the mfg filter, your bike will blow up. My Yamaha made 100k on a Purolator 14610 and then I sold it to someone who enjoys it past 100k. So never use anything but the Motorcycle mfg filter. You are welcome.

UPDATE:

DO NOT USE THE WALMART SUPERTECH FILTERS. They have changed the sealing gasket and it will not seal off.

Tiger oil pumps pump a LOT of oil and the seal will not hold the oil in the engine. . . Don't ask me how I know this.

How much torque did you use to tighten it up?

It’s 2019 and I have a 2018 Tiger 800 XRX. this thread is old and I’m a newbie so please excuse my lack of site knowledge.
Most info i find seems to apply to older model Tiger 800’s so, I’m looking for any oil filters Commonly and Currently available that fit my 2018 Tiger XRX.
Than you.

What is the Triumph filter number? I'll try to cross-reference the number and see if there is any difference. I would suspect the filter hasn't changed but good idea to be sure.

Just got off the phone with TRIUMPH (as I am in Texas and)not near my bike). The oil filter number for the 2018 TRIUMPH tiger 800 is
T1218001
I picked up the Super Tech 6607 that’s mentioned above by you then saw this thread so yeah, I’m trying to make doubly sure I get the proper filter and that it works without any issues . Thank you for your help sir.

My mechanic insists on Hi flo oil filters . His sales pitch was good enough for me but I can’t remember it ,at least a week ago . Have noticed a lot of bikes with them on .

Hi flo filters are also the popular choice in UK motorcycle dealers if they don't use manufacturers filters. Hi flo meet the German TUV standard so they are good quality.
