Yesterday my wife purchased (and I paid for) our new Street Twin - 513km, first service done. So far it has
  • Triumph LED turn signals
  • Triumph short tail with LED taillight
  • LSL Clubman handlebars + 1 inch risers (we'll see how that works out)
  • LSL adjustable foot rests
  • Triumph Barrel grips
  • the brown Brat-style seat (for me, my wife will use the lower standard seat)
I'll go and get it/him/her (we still need to figure that out) tomorrow

Next up: More customization. As many of you know, this is the target...
street_twin.jpg

So when the bike is here, we're going to fit
  • the spokes wheels
  • an aluminum break fluid reservoir
  • a center stand
  • a charging socket
  • heated grips (yes, my wife used to ride a BMW and she demands them)
  • small 4QF smartphone mount
  • a small dark tinted windshield
Later this year or beginning of next year, we'll do the paint job:
  • Competition Green (same as the current Thruxton)
  • chrome Triumph logo on the tank
  • chrome 900 on the side panels (from a Saab 900)
  • below the 900 a "Street Twin" or "Street Tracker" logo
and maybe later on...
  • the British Customs Predator Pro exhaust
  • SW Motech Legend Gear saddle bags
  • different fuel cap, maybe Monza-style
  • flat gauge bracket
  • definitely some other mirrors

Small change of plans: While we're on vacation, the bike is going to be painted. The chrome Triumph logo will go on the tank, but the 900 is no option. The side panels are more convex than anticipated and the 900 is very stiff and does not bend well. So we'll either leave them without any decorations or need to find a nice alternative.

So far, taking off the side panels was easy, they are just clipped in; the front fender only has 4 screws.

The tank is kind of the usual: Take off the seat, take out the one screw that fastens the tank, then gently pull it back and lift it a little. There are two electrical connectors, one fuel connector (with a little fuel inside) and the rubber tube that need to be unplugged.

Then you can take off the tank and empty it. We took out the last 300ml of fuel with a syringe, then left it open for the rest to vaporize.

Here is the tank with the Triumph sticker set I bought

Coming on very well in thoughts and actions, shame about the 900 badges.I am thinking of removing the America ones from my side panels and having them chromed but that is probably not on your list understandably.

I found this: https://www.3d-aufkleber-online.de/3d-schriftzuege.html

They are making raised stickers out of PVC (so they will bend easily) also in a chrome style. Will order a custom "900" & "Street Twin" (or Street Tracker or Modern Custom or something like that) and put it on. All you need to do is send in the design...

While the tank is off, I used the opportunity to rewire the USB-port (under the seat) to the front. Now I can easily plug in my phone and use it for navigation.

This is quite easy, the difficult thing is to find a spot where you can put the new connector. It should be facing downward, so rain cannot get in while standing or riding. This is where I put it (using double-sided tape), on the frame between the forks:

The wiring is pretty easy, you simply go through the cable tunnel on the left side of the frame:

Here are some detailed pictures of the wiring, the cable tunnel & the usb socket in the back:

New plan for the side panel stickers: 3D sticker in chrome style made of PVC, also found the Merlin Flyscreen from Dart, looks brilliant!

Wednesday I'll have pictures of the finished paint job. Meanwhile, here is the SW Motech Legend Gear bag (small 9,5 liter version) for my wife's rain gear, extra gloves & wind stopper. Just one side for now...

Paintjob finished. Love it, my wife loves it too! Will put on the Triumph stickers later this week and still need to design & order the 900-sticker for the sides.

Martin, that sure is a very very nice paint job. You'll have to take her out in the sunlight and take some more pictures, I bet it looks a gem.

Superb looking paint job TUP TUP
I generally don't care much for most shades of green, but that one I really like.
Great choice!!

Put on the Triumph logo today, 10cm from the bottom of the tank. Was easier than I thought, taped the stickers on to find the right position, marked the final position and carefully applied it from the inside out.

That's turned out a treat, you really only get one chance to put them on correctly, and by the looks of it, you got them on 1st time.
