Hi All, wondering if anyone here has a Power Commander tune on their Thruxton? I have a 2020 RS, and the PO applied a power commander tune to go with the 2-1 British customs pipe. While I love the sound and performance of this, I notice now that each time I start the bike the mode is switched. I know from factory, these either stay in the same mode all the time, or they return to standard road mode. In my case, it seems that it will rotate to the next mode in the line after shutoff/ during start up. For example... 99% of the time I am in sport mode, so the next time it starts it will be in rain mode. But if I am in rain mode during my previous ride, it will start in road mode. could this be due to the tune? or perhaps a weakened battery maybe?

My 2016 Thruxton R starts in ROAD everytime regardless of MODE last used, the manual for my model year states that's normal. The newer models (I looked in the 2023 model) per its manual will restart in the last mode the EFI was selected to. Sounds to me like your EFI isn't fully switching at selection. The Power Commander is plugged in downstream of the EFI management module.

Here's a link to the manual I was looking at: Page 51

yeah, that was its behavior when I first purchased. sometime in the last year this has changed. It is only a minor inconvenience as I just blip the button a couple of times before I take off... BUT at first I thought it was a performance issue because I hadn't noticed that the mode had changed. I had been riding in rain mode the whole time so the throttle response was just a bit lacking:LOL: . Now I make sure its appropriately responsive before I take off.

That's my experience, I blip it to SPORT and then it's grin grin grin, stop for a coffee and then it's like the motor checks out, and it's "oh yeah, duh." One thing I've had to learn is how to get it to SPORT while rolling down the road (no bigee, just blip and pull in the clutch till it goes solid (no blinking)).
