Rattle At Startup

Then we will never get to the end of this bike, it rattles, bad design some where.
Best just ride it and enjoy.

To some extent I try to ignore..but I cant 100%.....I will always be looking for an answer....im sure it will come some day.
 
Possible the Triumph techs have a specific procedure for the valves, sequence and all. Might be a good idea to talk to one and bring it in and see what they do if possible.
 
After a couple of weeks, the engine is still a lot quieter than before, but I can still hear the faint clatter appear and go almost as quick as it came.
I'm going to just ride it now and enjoy the bike.
After you have dealt with the issue and taken it to a dealer to sort out, that's the best it will be!
We seem to forget that this is a bit twin, there's bound to be some engine noise, even if we feel its not a good sound.
With a set of Zard silencers on the bike, it makes for a better sound, gives the bike a bit of character.

Sounds Good SB.....I have just accepted it going to rattle when cold.....not much more I can do....most of the twin watercooled dont do it.....I feel let down by triumph.

Still love my bike though.

Makes it not a whirly Honda. It's your bike talking to you, like a cat does. My Triumph twin has been chattering away for 51 years.
 
I agree with @solomon, it’s in the nature of some engines to do some talking. It’s been looked at and adjusted by a Triumph mechanic so it should be in the acceptable talking range. Point is to know when your bikes talking is excessive and when normal. Sounds like it has a morning greeting, I’m waking up let’s ride! Just enjoy.

Well thats one way to look at it I suppose.

It is a bit embarrassing, but fortunately, aftermarket Zard cans with the DB killers removed cover most of the noise.

Yes now noisy again.
I just ride it now, what with the suspension set up professionaly it's a lovely bike to ride.

Mmmm long as it gets no worse...I just live with it....still would have liked to know though.

Been back 3 times....Triumph just say....long as it goes after it warms up ignore it.....not what you want to hear.

Plenty of other owners have the same problem.....other prob have just not noticed it.

Its out of warranty as of 3 mths ago.
 
"Its out of warranty as of 3 mths ago." If the noise is anything bad or expensive it will show up now that the warranty is gone.
