Hi,
I am new at this forum...I have got problem with my TB900, noise in low revs 2500-3000 on all gears, just only when under load (acceleration, up hill)...seems from clutch space..
Sound I would describe as something between rattle or vibration of sprocket.
I thought it woult be broken bolt syndrom as often described in triumph,
( broken alternator impeller bolt or broken bolts on alternator driveshaft on both ends)
I checked all three bolts, but they are o.k., so I would apreciate any advise
Thanks

does the sound go quieter when you put the lights on ?? if it does its the rubber coshion drive between the alternator and engine worn .

Lights have no influence on sound. I can set gears and rev up the engine on central stand, but sound o.k., riding and between 2500-3000 rpm and there is a noise.

I have found loose springs on clutch basket...there are two types..symmetricaly one after another 3 hold stiff, 3 loose. Is it normal?

Story goes on..
Fixed loose springs with shims , but no change...maybe settled to lower rates 2000-2500rpm,but still rattling/vibrating. Looking around for any loose bolts etc...there are no.
Drive chain looks good- tension set as in service manual...
Any other ideas?

So it seems clear: loose clutch outer hub of basket....that is why a little improvement after fixed springs(no shaking now under any condition) , but hub vibrate...making noise at certain rpm...its loose just a little in center( between tooth), but it makes 2-3mm on circuit..the only solution e new basket..

Never ending story: changed cam chain, but still no improvement about the sound in low revs when under load. Some owners on web said its normal at such revs, but i dont like it

I still say it's worn out rubber Cush drive on the alternator !
Check for slack and play the smallest amount will make the sound you describe .

I said: I checked alternator bolt as Wells rubber cush drive and both seems like brand new..

I've had 3 that seemed like new but it didn't stop them rattling till I changed them , I would also be checking the splines on the alternator for wear as it won't matter how good the rubbers are or how tight the bolt is .... it will still rattle !

Taťka for advice.
What is spline on alternator?what do you mean?

So I have fixed it at last!
It was hight fuel level in carburetors chamber so at low revs it was too reach and as a result poor performance with a noise " like valve knocking).

congrats on the fix

Story goes on. I thought it is o.k( after setting carburettor fuel level), but its not! Changed rubbers on alternator, but still rattle..
Now my TB is beeing chechked by technician and his explanation: there is a little backlash on primary drive...no danger for engine but sound...what do you think?
Last year : After I have changed camchain, I notised at diferent camshaft position different chain tension (not at the part where camchain tensioner presses but on opposit site )..when rottating camshaft, at the possion the valve resists, there is no loose chain, but after going on rottating and settled valves, half right part of chain is loose

Hi,
Triumph servis technician says that cam chain behavior ( See video above)during revolution is o.k...Th last loose thing I found loose is the pump oil gear shaft -axialy loose..
