Hi everyone,

Can anybody give me a definitive answer on this question please? There is so much info out there it seems difficult to get to the facts.

Will resetting adaption on the ecu when not needed (i.e. not making any significant changes like doing a new tune) affect the original map on the bike?

I had some problems with running and I did reset the adaption - I have not however saved a copy of the original map so I want to know if it will affect the set-up of the map on the bike in an adverse way?

Hope that's clear

TIA

No

Reset Adaption will not change the loaded tune in any way. What it does is calibrate the TPS to the tune that is installed. This can sometimes make the engine run cleaner at low revs/throttle position. But if you have made modifications to the induction or exhaust system, then the only way round this is a new correctly modified tune for your mods.
