On Saturday, Jan 5, my nephew and I rode to Osteen for breakfast and then to the Daytona Beach Flea Market to attend a classic and hot rod car show. The Osteen Restaurant is a country town restaurant featuring southern country cookin'. They serve good food and great breakfasts. It is a biker favorite. Our total trip was 104 miles/167 kilometers.

The car show was really good. Here is a small sample of the cars and trucks and rat rigs.

Shane, back in the early 60's I dated a girl who owned a blue Anglia. There weren't many of them in the States.

Great pictures! Love the old cars and rods - especially the two Fords in pictures 6 & 7 TUP TUP
My first car was a blue 1950 two-door Ford similar to the one in picture 7.
The 1956 Ford in picture 6 is a beauty and is very much like a 1955 Ford I had back in the day.
Mine was black and white two-tone. I loved that old car, but a drunk hit me head-on and wrote it off.
I escaped with only bruises.

Thanks, Rocky. Those old Ford flat head eights were great engines. Two of my friends had a 49 Ford and a 50 Ford respectively. I had a 56 Chevy and a 57 Ford. I also had a 31 Ford Model A. It was my first car.

Ah, that 68 is fine car. Congrats! Too bad you had to sell that 57 hardtop. That has long been my favorite car. I was never fortunate enough to own one.

I always loved the '55, '56 and '57 Chevy hardtops.
I had a '55, but it was a two-door and not a HT.

I had a 56 Chevy 2 door; alas, it was not a hardtop.

I had to sell my 57 because i needed $. My mother in law's house flooded with sewage from the city sewage lines running under the street in front of her house. The sewage backed up, covered all of the floors and ran out of the doors for 9 hours. Long story short: we asked for help from the city, then went in front of the board of alderman for help, contacted different lawyers (some in our family), they could not help, it apeare the Mississippi Supreme Court had passed a law that protects cities from being responsible for anything like that, in fact a cop car hit a citizens automobile here in town and was not responsible for it , a school bus ran over a child when she was let off the buss, the city/state was not responsible for that either. They don't even have ins. for things like that, they don't have to. I sold my 57 and got enough to rebuild her house, she was able to stay in her house until she passed away a few years back. It took me 7 years to build the 57, i did a" frame off" restoration all new chrome plaiting, parts ect., it was almost perfect! I am sure you know what i think about the laws /local and state government here!!!!!!

That is a horrible story. I am so sorry that happend to your mom. Obviously you made the right call.

I bought my first new Triumph in 1966, a Trophy TR6R. Loved that bike. In two years, I put 21,000 miles on it with no problems. It did not leak the first drop of oil. In 1968 my first child, a daughter, was born. I was a college student working my way through college. I had to sell my Triumph to pay for her birth. She says she was worth it. I tell her that is open for debate. BGRIN
