I everyone.. just joined forum.. I've posted as new member.. but not sure if I posted it in the new members thread.. as can't find it in new members intro.. if admin reads this post and my new member intro is in the wrong thread can you please move it to the correct Thread..

Purchased my 2024 Baja matt orange speed twin 1200 in March 2024 and enjoying the bike up to now having covered 1400 miles which as been fault free. however lately seem to be having a fault with the fuel gauge.. noticed that when I refuel to the brim it's one bar short from full.. "I.E not showing full" when I turn the ignition on the speedo and rev counter dials do the normal swipe round and the fuel gauge shows full "all bars on the fuel gauge" then shows one bar less than full! I know the gauge dose show full right away until rode approx 100 metres or so! but still shows one bar off full. bike is under warranty and I've booked it in to the main dealer who said it's most likely a faulty fuel sensor or just may need resetting but it most likely the fuel sensor fault.. just asking as anyone else had this problem when refueling to the brim it dose not show all bars on fuel gauge.. and is it possible to reset the fuel gauge?

Welcome to the forum. With everything electronic on today's bikes, it is possible to reset a lot of things. You made the best choice by taking it back to the dealer. As an old school biker, I don't rely on the fuel gage. I reset my trip meter every time I refuel and I know the range of my bike.

Hope they can just resett... as prefer my bike not to be messed with. Very rarely do bikes go back as when left the factory.. I'm not that bothered about the fuel gauge as I also resett the trip when have refueled and work on 90 miles miles before looking for refueling as I know I'm always within distance for fuel.. also my bmw R nine t did not have a fuel gauge just a light and count down.. so use the trip for that.. but the bike is only 6 months old and everything needs to work as left factory..

Despite having modern electronics the gauge likely has an old fashion float mechanism to supply the information . Be interested in more comments to see I I’m correct on this assumption.
My 850 sport always shows 380 km range left when filled but you have to ride it 60 km before it reads 379 . I believe all the new Tigers do likewise, I can live with it .

Can't speak to your bike's fuel sender, but my old Trophy 1200 used a float and resistance bridge. When the guage got balky after 40K miles I pulled the unit out of the tank and found the contact arm was worn down. Added a dab of solder and viola, working again.

As to your unit being new, it's most likely a calibration problem that just needs tweaking.
