It starts with a very important selection of motorbikes from the early 1900s: a very rare ABC 400 V-twin (estimated value €4,500/8,000) and an imposing Harley Davidson 1000 (estimated value €11,000/18,000) stand out.

On the side a curious Ner – a – Car (estimated value € 9,000/19,000) and a pioneering Royal Enfield from 1911(estimated value € 6,800/12,000).

Moto Guzzi could not be missing: a stupendous Sport 14 (estimated value € 9,500/18,000) together with an agile 250 PE (estimated value € 4,500/9,000).

The representation of Italian and foreign micro-engines from the 50s and 60s is also numerous: a beautiful Ducati Cucciolo (estimated value € 850/1,500), a spectacular Western Flyer ‘special edition’ (estimated value € 400/800) and an eccentric twin-engine Nassetti Pellegrino (estimated value € 350/750) stand out among the various other colourful lots.

Also present is the queen of scooters: the Piaggio Vespa in the ‘low headlight’ version (estimate € 7,500/15,000).

Italian motorbikes from the 1950s-60s are represented by the classic models Mondial, Moto Morini, Gilera Parilla, Rumi, Moto Guzzi, Motobi and many others.

Also worthy of note are two extremely rare and special models, motorbikes that marked post-war history: a Moto Guzzi Trialce (estimate € 2,800/5,000) and a Gilera Mercurio (estimate € 3,500/6,500).

The off-road world is represented by iconic models by SWM, DKW, Zundapp, Ossa, Montesa. Worthy of mention here is a splendid 1958 Maico 250 cross (estimated value € 3,500/7,000) and an equally striking Zundapp 125 GS (estimated value € 5,500/13,000).

Among the curiosities, a 1920s tricycle Monet et Goyon (estimated value € 2,200/4,500), a futuristic Testi Amico (estimated value € 550/1,100) and a Sunbeam-based chopper (estimated value € 1,300/3,000) that looks like something straight out of a comic book!

The café’s annual Christmas Toy Run will leave at 10.30am on Sunday 15th December to visit and drop off presents to the children’s wards at two London hospitals: Northwick Park, Harrow & St Mary’s, Paddington.

Donations are welcome for ages 3-11, particularly of LEGO sets, arts and crafts sets, Barbie dolls, Spider-Man toys and cars and planes.

Gifts should be brought unwrapped. Hospitals advise against stuffed toys and sweets due to allergies – the nursing staff however may appreciate some sweet treats!

On the morning of the run, all elves, reindeer, Santa’s, snowmen and pixies etc. are asked to please check in at the café with “Toy Run Ron” who, for the 27th year, once again is kindly looking after the logistics involved with this special occasion.

On returning to the cafe, there will be prizes for the “Best Dressed Bike” and the “Best Dressed Rider” – and a hot cuppa.

Later the same day, Sunday 15th December at 7pm, the café will hold its annual candlelit Christmas Carol Service.

If you are not able to attend but would like to make a donation towards purchasing toys, a GoFundMe has been set up by Derek “Del” Cosgrove.
