There’s a lotta options regarding extra lighting for the darker hours I ride. I’d prefer something that kind of blends in rather than draws attention. When I look at the front end of the XC I keep thinking about the space below the headlight and above the fender. There’s a lot of smaller sized lights such as this…
DJI 4X4 2Pcs 2.7 Inch 50W LED Driving Lights LED Pods Round LED Work Light Spot Light Motorcycle Driving Lights Small Fog Lights for Trucks Jeep Off Road SUV ATV UTV Boat https://a.co/d/8tkQ31Y
…that could be mounted in the space previously mentioned. Just used these lights as an example as to what I’m seeking.

There’s a harness on Etsy…
….that I think would be a good purchase as well.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

It all depends on what looks good to you and what works best for your riding style. I think you are on the right track in looking at LED lights.

In my case, my objective was to see at night and be seen in daylight. After my accident, being seen was more important than esthetics. I mounted automotive LED driving lights on my engine guards.

I really like the Denali lights. Thinking of getting the DR1 or DR2. Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Only you can decide.

In my experience with a Scrambler 1200 XC Showcase with the driving lights it is by far the best day and night time letting I have experienced on a motorbike

Thanks for the photo Griffendog, any chance of a couple of night photos from the drivers seat and head on?

Qship, the Denalis are of interest to me and I really like the different options they have for switches.

Coming home from Calgary the other night down 22X was a good opportunity to appreciate the stock lighting and see it’s limitations. Definitely need some filler in there. Using the high beam switch as frequently as I did has me concerned about its longevity, I could see me snapping that off in a ham-fisted moment. Mounting an easy to use and accessible switch (such as a Denali offering) could be challenging.

Denali D4's, Clear and Amber. with a DialDim controller.

Both D4's with Clear filter.

I’m looking at auxiliary lights at the moment for my Striple, same reasons as Carl. Denalis are good but very pricey so I’m going to try a pair of these for starters.

So I went ahead with the previously mentioned lights from Amazon and wiring harness from Etsy.

I’m not 100% convinced they’re going to stay in that location but for the time being they’re gonna work. I still plan on mounting brackets underneath the headlight and moving them there this winter. Think I’m going to change out the signal lights too, got some more looking to do regarding that.

Did they help? Yuppers, definitely noticed a difference.

Went for a short run, the extra lighting really fills in the sides of the road close and off in the distance. I’m pretty sure my goals have been met (except for them being somewhat hidden, that comes next). They seem solidly made, I guess time will tell.

I’m also contemplating adding a yellow light under the headlight as well- hopefully one of these- Auxbeam 4 Inch 60W Square LED Pods Amber Offroad Lights Spot Beam Fog Lights Bar Super Bright Spot Lights Yellow Driving Lights Work Lights for Trucks Car ATV Jeep Motorcycle https://a.co/d/74GbZvJ
-will fit with the lights I just mounted (I’d put the other one on the wife’s Ducati Scrambler.

Quick update.

Had an opportunity to do a couple of nighttime rides. I’m pretty thrilled with the way these lights worked out regarding visibility, definitely filled in where the stock high beam was lacking. I’ll relocate them during them to under the headlight during the winter break, hopefully that gives me the cleaner look I’m looking for.

Also found these on Amazon- https://a.co/d/ecqV6WU
Hoping to tuck these in as well.

Also need to find some signal lights that don’t stick out as far. I quite like these (same guy who made the wiring harness I bought) https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/1120472847/
but looking at other options as well. He’s got matching ones for the rear.

Dimensions of the yellow 30W fog lights match the 50W white lights :)
