Tiger 800 Topbox Recall

Triumph has issued a recall on all 800 hard topboxes. Apparently there is a plastic clip that needs to be replaced as the existing clip can allow the topbox to come off. I do not have the actual recall notice.

Description : Excessive play in the top box to base unit locking mechanism which under certain road conditions could cause the top box to detach from the base unit.
Remedial Action : Recall the machines that are likely to be affected to replace the clip to the locking handle which will eliminate the excessive play.

Any dates for the recall window? I got my bike in November, would it be modified?

You can go to the Triumph Website and type in your VIN number. It will list any recalls affecting your bike.

I think that would be best but I am sure they would have sorted that issue out by November as this was already a known issue around the 08-10-2011
