These Are Official

The Triumph Trident has been rumored for a while and there’s been a lot written about it. Now Triumph is showing us its hand. The company released some official images of this new motorcycle.

The team is now putting the finishing touches on the bike. This Triumph will feature a standard/naked look that’s thoroughly modern. Triumph says the Trident will feature “class-leading technology as standard, and an agile and rider-friendly chassis and ergonomics.”

The bike should be available in 2021 and when it comes, it will be the culmination of a four-year development program. The team from Triumph worked with Rodolfo Frascoli, an Italian motorcycle designer, to get the look of the bike just right. The bike has a somewhat minimalist design but still looks elegantly crafted.

It has some beautiful inverted front forks, rear mono-shock, dual-disc front brakes, and a single-disc rear. The bike has some nice cutouts on the tank and looks like it will be a really comfy bike overall. The Trident will be a great addition to the Triumph line-up. It’s exciting to see this new addition and to see the bike in some new photos. More info will become available at a later date. When that info comes available, I’ll get it up for you all.

Not really what I thought it would look like.

Sorry, not my style at all.
I'm old fashioned I guess because only the Bonneville line of bikes appeal to me.

So this is a sport bike..

I am unimpressed. I prefer the Bonneville or Tiger lines.

Looks like a Daytona without fairings.

I do wish they’d quit with this “teaser” nonsense and just get on and publish the photos. Usually when manufacturers do this, I’ve lost interest by the time it’s finally launched....

Seems a little late for a Storm Trooper themed motorcycle.

Yeah, it does seem to be............uuuummm.................white. Yeah that's it.

Sadly this style doesn’t ring my bell, Guess I am from old school which I like the the Meridian and the early Hinckley design. This design flavour is clearly ear marked for the younger folks which makes me in two years from now, 3/4 of a century old!

Triumph had the opportunity to give people something new and lost the plot early on by the looks of this 'new bike'. Maybe it's me, and I've lost the plot, but I think you could be forgiven if you thought it was just another jap pile of dung?

I like it... It looks similar to my (custom-in-progress) 955i Daytona. Maybe that's why I like it!

I like the Meriden / early Hinckley stuff too and as far as I’m concerned, the Explorer / Trophy are familiar build quality to anyone used to T300’s. That’s why have one of each to replace my old Sprint 900 and Daytona 1200
However, especially looking at the frame, lights, instruments and (lack of) bodywork, along with an off the shelf engine and a factory in Thailand, this looks like it could be a very cheap bike to build and should have great sales possibilities in the market that they are now most interested in - Asia.
Any sales here may just be the icing on the cake. However, they could be just what Triumph dealers need to compete against the tide of Happy Shopper Triumphs from Yamaha, without devaluing their more premium Street Triples

This bike looks so fragile. If I'd think of getting one of these I'm not taking it out for more than a couple of miles at once. It's a white colour bike and it will get messy out in the dust. I don't know what were they thinking about making this bike.
