Triumph has unveiled the keenly awaited Tiger Sport, and the changes have been much more extensive than expected, including a single-sided swingarm and an extra 10bhp!

The bike has been given a sportier edge to move it away from the Tiger Explorer in Triumph's range, with most of the emphasis being on enhanced performance and sharper looks, although the changes have also improved its all-rounder capabilities. In particular its luggage carrying capacity has increased substantially.

Prices to be announced in February and the bikes are supposed available in March.

I wish they would have decided to import a few into the U.S. SAD. Very well could have been my next bike.

Very nice bike for sure. Always liked the single sided swing arm on a bike.

OK this is cruel I know, but here I am on the Tiger sport in Austria a few weeks ago. I too love the look of this bike, it rode really well if somewhat hard, but I think that in the hands of a good sportsbike rider who's downsized their Grand Prix aspirations, you could have a lot of fun on this, The brakes were really good too, just like hitting a brick wall when you applied them.
I only had about 15 min's on her, but liked it. But I liked the Tiger 800 even more and that would be my choice out of the two, but that's only because I like pottering ( Another word for getting older ) about and touring. I hope that they will export the bike to the US and Canada ( Is it available in Canada ? ) so you will have the chance to have a go and see what you think. Maybe you could contact Triumph direct and hassle the hell out of them to export it to the US

That IS cruel indeed! Great pics though! C'mon US riders let's all call Triumph USA on Monday and clamor for a few to be shipped here, say....one per dealer to test the sales waters. Thing is, I personally would not buy one immediately now that I'm still in the honeymoon period with my 955, but I would certainly put it on the short list. Had it been available this year here before I bought the used Tiger, I would have bought one.

Sick you make me sick....... :y16:

I am hard pressed to even consider anything other than my Tiger. However it maybe best they keep these "Tiger Sports" overseas awhile.......might be more temptation than I can handle.:y15:

Like that's going to happen, the wife would slap me where it hurts with a wet kipper. Nice thought though ( Not the kipper, Mrs Universe )

image0-154.jpg Me at Saint Tropez in 1989, couldn't find Mrs Universe anywhere, will lets face looking like this, she more than likely thought " What a plonker", ah youth it just goes to show that you'll have no idea what you'll be thinking 30 years later when you see the picture again. Well I was on holiday, so that's my excuse.

Who is that on the edge of your photo? :y2:

Maybe it was Miss world, I'll never know now. Anyway Pat was with me that day so I couldn't take a closer look even if I wanted too. Mind you if memory serves me well I didn't have any Kippers in the top or side boxes.

And since you were wearing sunglasses I would be willing to bet you weren't looking at the camera. :y2:
