This morning, four of us left at 0650 to ride to Titusville to watch the launch. We were at our usual spot on US1 along the Indian River. We arrived at 0800 and the launch window opened at 0901, The rocket launched at 0906. We could see the rocket fpr about 2 minutes and 30 seconds, I could not get decent pics because the camera was looking right into the rising sun. Therefore I am pasting a ULA video on Youtube. This is a long detailed video. If you have ever wondered what is involved in a launch, this video will explain it.
There are built in holds to a launch. The final hold was a T -4:00. You can skip ahead to 19:00 minutes of the video and see the final checks and the resumption of the count down. The actual ignition and lift off begins at 26:00. It took almost 2 minutes for the sound to reach us. We could feel the vibration.
After the launch we had a delicious breakfast at the Village Inn. We can't do a ride and not eat!! It was a 96 mile ride.
Four other bikers joined us. They were riding two up/
