What I Did With My Bike Today

I used to sponsor the MSF Advanced Rider course at work. I took it every year to get the range work in. Nothing like trying to outsmart traffic cones and the diabolical nature of our instructor to add skills and abilities.....
As a 17 year old newbie (many moons ago) I completed a voluntary Auto Cycle Union (ACU) training course, mainly to get my parents on- board with my choice of transport (my Grampa died on his Vincent so they weren't keen).

One exercise involved weaving through cones which the instructors moved closer and closer to each other thus reducing the gaps. This taught me to ride feet up at incredibly slow speeds. This skill has stuck with me and is really useful for filtering and other slow speed situations where I often see less experienced riders dragging their feet.

I added a red stripe flanked by gold pin stripes to my front fender. I swear it has knocked a nano second off the 0-60 time and it goes much faster now.20240707_175843.jpg

Well nothing extremely exiting, but took a short ride and got my Thruxton inspected!

She passed!

It was the first time taking her out after the storm. There’s still loose branches and lots of leaves on the sides of roads. Later I went to a grocery store to renew the registration and found the computer systems were effected by that world wide computer glitch, CrowdStrike. Did any of y’all run across something that didn’t work? I heard airlines had issues and a bunch of other businesses.

That must be why my Amal Monoblocs were acting up the last couple days. Hmmm!

The outage grounded flights in and out of Fort Lauderdale and Miami International Airports. That snarled auto traffic. With no flights taking off or landing, it was peacefully quiet here for a while! LOL

It’s amazing how much noise traffic from airlines generate both in the air and on land.

Same here. Just had a medical and everything else is good too.
Great on your medical! I had a checkup earlier in the month. I have a recheck in a week. My numbers including weight wasn’t exactly where my doctors wanted. They also increased my blood pressure meds. I have anxiety over going to doctors so it usually spikes, but now it really spiked and I’m checking it daily. The new dose brought it down. It’s not safe growing old. LoL.

I had my semi annual check up two weeks ago. All of my numbers are in the good range except my PSA count. I'm on no prescription medications. Not bad for an 80 year old. I'm thankful.

Got a plug on my Michelin Road 6 GT rear tire for the Trophy SE after an annoying flat 35 miles from my home base. Mounted the tire after the plug and am packing for Canada today. Fingers crossed!

What part of Canada are you heading for?

It’s a well known fact that the RED ones are always the fastest.

As it’s been in triple digits Fahrenheit for the past few weeks and my ‘09 was already overdue for a 12K service, plus my garage has become a 2-car oven, I brought her into the house to work in the cool of the air conditioning. I’ve only done this a few times in the past but, at the rate things are going, it seems that there’ll be more of it in the future.

I got everything done in a couple days and, now that the sun is just about to set and it’s “only” 95°, I guess it’s time to hit the road!

My daughter works for an I.T. company and she texted me Wednesday(?) that it was a very bad day to be in IT.

If you're married you may want to consider starting a "Go FundMe" for your divorce when you spill oil all over that floor.......
